Angelina Jolie admits to being “pretty tough” on herself when it comes to raising her six children. In a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine, the Eternals actress, 46, spoke out about her duties as a mother. “I’m not a perfect parent by any means,” she admitted. “Every day I feel like I’m more aware of everything I don’t do right. And I’m pretty tough on myself, because I feel often, ‘Am I doing the right thing? Did I [say] the right thing?’”

The Eternals star spoke openly about raising her six children, saying that, like many mothers, she may be hard on herself about her day-to-day decisions surrounding her children.

The actress, 49, has four children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt: Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, Vivienne, 13, and Knox, 13. Jolie gushed over their soft and compassionate personalities.

“My children have done many, many loving things. My children’s kindness has been very healing to me,” she said.

“They’re pretty great people, and because there’s so many of them, I think they’ve had a very significant effect on each other,” she added. “It’s not like I’m the head of anything. I’m very honest with my kids. And I’m very human with my kids”.

The actress also said that she lives with “six very individual human beings.” “I am so excited about all the different stages and feelings and curiosities that they go through. Why wouldn’t you be?” Angelina said. “We’re supposed to help them figure out who they are. And you can’t figure out who they are if you don’t enthusiastically develop with them.”

Jolie recently shared some adorable red carpet experiences with her children. They accompanied her to the Eternals premiere last week, where they wore vintage and upcycled ensembles, some of which came from the Oscar winner’s own closet, with Zahara donning her mother’s glittering Elie Saab Couture gown from the 2014 Academy Awards.

Brad and Angelina has been embroiled in a custody battle since she filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 and demanded sole custody of their children.

The actress told The Guardian in September that going through the public divorce, which was finalized in 2019, and the subsequent custody fight over the previous five years had left her “broken.”

“I just want my family to heal,” she told the outlet. “And I want everyone to move forward — all of us, including their dad. I want us to heal and be peaceful. We’ll always be a family.”
