Angelina Jolie claimed she worried for the safety of her ‘whole family,’ During her marriage to Brad Pitt.The former Hollywood golden couple have been battling in court procedures in California, mainly hidden from public view, since the actress filed for divorce in 2016.

The Oscar winner has collaborated on a new book titled “Know Your Rights and Claim Them: A Guide for Youth” to ensure that young people are aware of their fundamental human rights to freedom and equality.

The ‘Maleficent’ actress has previously claimed that her ex-husband was verbally and physically violent to their children, Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and 13-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, including an incident involving Maddox on a private jet.

When pressed for more information, she stated she ‘can’t speak about’ the issue because of the pending custody battle.

Angelina Jolie “confirmed by nodding that she was alluding to her divorce and the allegations of domestic abuse she made against Pitt,” according to the Guardian.

Angelina Jolie was then asked if she was concerned about the safety of her children, to which she answered, “Yes, for my family. My whole family.”

The divorce and custody battles were described by Jolie as “horrific.”

She added: “It doesn’t start with the violation (the plane incident). It’s so much more complicated than that.”

“It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children.

“I mean, in some ways it’s been the last decade. There’s a lot I can’t say.”

Maddox, Angelina’s son, reportedly testified in court during her custody battle with Brad, but she claims he was “denied a voice in court” in the new interview.

‘It took a lot for me to be in a position where I felt I had to separate from the father of my children,’ she said of her decision to file for divorce after 14 years together.

The star of ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ has expressed optimism for the future, wishing for herself, Brad, and their children to “heal and be peaceful.”

She went on to say, ‘We’ll always be a family.’

She added, “How am I? I’m realising that sometimes you can survive things, but not know how to feel and live in the same way. So it’s more about being open. I’m really trying to be open as a human being again.”

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, only days after a squabble erupted on a private jet transporting the stars and their children from France to Los Angeles.
