Henry Cavill has indicated that “nothing is off the table,” in regards to whether he will portray the next James Bond.

The 38-year-old actor, best known for his role as Superman, has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Daniel Craig, who stood down as Bond after his final performance in No Time To Die.

The search for the next 007 agent has already begun. As the espionage thriller continues to do well at the box office, fans have already begun to speculate about the next Bond actor. With the producers being tight-lipped on the topic, several names such as Richard Madden, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and others have surfaced during fan debates on social media. However, Henry Cavill is a name that may suit the bill and would be well-liked by the crowd.

Cavill has been linked to the part of Bond several times over the years, with Digital Spy readers even voting him the best man for the position in 2020, so it’s no surprise that the actor has subsequently acknowledged that “nothing is off the table”

Cavill told The Hollywood Reporter that he would be interested in chatting with Bond producers.

He said: “I think it would be very exciting to have a conversation with the producers. In an ideal world, I’d never have to turn anything down. Nothing is off the table. It’s an honour to even be part of that conversation.”

The coveted character has yet to be cast, with producer Barbara Broccoli previously stating that she would not begin the casting process until Daniel’s final film was completed.

Cavill, who is now filming Enola Holmes 2, also expressed his thoughts about the potential of reprising his role as Superman by saying that the cape is still in the closet. While the new Black Superman has been introduced by DC films, Cavill has been pretty upfront about both characters coexisting in the DC Universe. He expressed his delight by saying, “Superman’s far more than skin colour. Superman is an ideal. Superman’s an extraordinary thing that lives within our hearts. Why not have multiple Supermen going on? Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful Joker movie; so what if it’s not tied to the rest?”

Henry’s newest enigmatic statement comes only a few weeks after he claimed he was open to portraying anybody — including a villain – in the next James Bond film.

“If Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson] are interested me in any capacity to be a part of their movies, then I will gladly have that discussion, and that would be something I’d be very keen to explore further,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill, who has won many hearts with his depiction of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, will shortly return with the second season.

Henry, who originally played Superman in 2013’s Man Of Steel, revisited the character earlier this year for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and has huge ambitions for the role in the future.

He explained: ‘There is still a lot of storytelling for me to do as a Superman and I would absolutely love the opportunity.

‘There’s an opportunity for growth after [Justice League], to explore the psyche of Superman as a deep, seemingly invulnerable god-like being but with real feeling on the inside.’

No Time To Die had significant delays owing to the coronavirus epidemic, which hampered production and release, but it ultimately hit theaters at the end of September.

Clarisse Loughrey of The Independent awarded No Time to Die three stars, calling it “disappointing” and “strangely anticlimactic.”

“Despite Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s much-publicised contributions to the film’s script, No Time to Die hardly feels like the radical feminist rewrite we were promised,” she said in her review.
