After making their romance Instagram official last month, the Man of Steel star has asked his fans to stop speculating about his relationship with the 31-year-old media content executive.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday, the Superman star, 38, addressed “speculation” about “my private life and professional partnerships” writing beside a photo with Natalie Viscuso, a Hollywood producer, that he had seen “social animosity” has grown “increasingly prevalent” online recently.

“Dear fans and followers, I wanted to make a wee community announcement,” Cavill, 38, wrote. “I couldn’t help but notice that there has been some social animosity of late. It’s becoming increasingly prevalent on my feed. There has been lots of, let’s call it speculation for now, about my private life and professional partnerships.”

The actor went on to remark that having to say something was a “bad thing”. “We are living in an age of social enlightenment. More and more, people are realizing that their views may have been blinkered and that they need to expand them to encompass others.”

“While I do appreciate the passion and support by those very people who are ‘speculating,’ it has come to such a point that I needed to say something, which in itself, is a bad thing,” Cavill wrote. “To you out there who are expressing your disdain and showing your displeasure through a surprising variety of ways, it’s time to stop. I know it can be fun to speculate, to gossip, and to dive into our own personal echo chambers on the internet, but your ‘passion’ is misplaced, and it causes harm to the people I care about most.”

Cavill didn’t say what kind of “speculation” he’s talking about, but according to Today, it may be fans’ speculation about the status of his relationship with Viscuso. After images of them walking and holding hands appeared in April, the new pair was romantically linked for the first time.

Cavill said, “At the end of the day, he gets it — chatting shit online can be fun. But being mean takes gossip a step too far, and if it’s going to hurt the people close to him, he’s not going to allow it.

“Even your most conservative of negative assumptions about both my personal and professional life just aren’t true,” the Brit stated, adding that he is “very happy in love and in life.”

Henry exhorted people to embrace the period of social enlightenment as a shared experience and to look ahead with optimism. ” I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself,” the actor ended the post, which had disabled comments.

Cavill initially made his relationship with Viscuso public in April, when he shared a photo of the two playing chess.

He commented, “This is me looking quietly confident shortly before my beautiful and brilliant love Natalie, destroys me at chess.”

The actor, who recently appeared in Enola Holmes and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, will shortly appear in Season 2 of the acclaimed Netflix series The Witcher.
