Henry Cavill, the British actor best known for his role as Superman in the DC movies, has confirmed his involvement in the creation of a Warhammer Cinematic Universe.

This comes days after the actor announced that he will not be reprising his role as the superhero. He will be both a star in and an executive producer of the launch series.

In a statement on Instagram, Cavill expressed his excitement for this project, which he has dreamed of for thirty years.

He wrote, “For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action.”

He went on to say that after 22 years in the industry, he feels confident in his ability to bring this vision to life.

Cavill also praised his partner, Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo, for helping to find the perfect home for the project at Amazon.

He believes that having Amazon as a home will allow them the freedom to truly bring the massive scope of Warhammer to life.

The actor assured Warhammer fans that he will respect the IP and bring something both familiar and fantastic to the table.

In his statement, Cavill also noted that their first step is to find a filmmaker, creator, and writer. He encouraged fans to keep an eye out for further updates.

Amazon and Games Workshop, the company behind Warhammer, have entered into a deal to produce films and TV programs based on the games.

Initially, the project will focus on developing the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

This new development for Cavill comes after the recent revelation that he will be returning to the role of Superman.

The news was revealed in a post-credits scene of Dwayne Johnson’s film Black Adam.

However, Cavill stated that the decision to reverse his departure from the role was not an easy one, but he respected the decision of the newly instated DC bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
