The romantic comedy film Notting Hill, released in 1999, brought together two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

Despite the movie’s success, their on-set relationship was reportedly not a happy one.

In a recent interview, Grant opened up about his experience working with Roberts, saying that they did not keep in touch after filming ended.

According to Grant, Roberts had demanded more money as filming progressed, changing her initial agreement from $10 million to $15 million.

This behavior made Grant see her as a “diva” and created a negative impression of her that persisted even years after the movie was released.

Grant also joked about the discomfort he felt during their kissing scenes, saying that Roberts’ mouth was too large and made the experience awkward.

He noted that his best on-screen kiss was with Renée Zellweger in Bridget Jones’s Diary.

Grant added that he regrets making these jokes about Roberts and fears that he may have offended her.

Despite their difficult working relationship, Notting Hill remains a beloved movie, and Grant and Roberts’ performances were praised.

In fact, Nicole Kidman, who worked with Grant on the TV series The Undoing, expressed her admiration for the movie and told him that she had always wanted the role that Roberts played.

Kidman revealed that she had tried for the part, even though she knew that Roberts was the favorite to land it.

Grant and Roberts’ lack of a friendship post-filming is not uncommon in Hollywood.

Many actors have publicly discussed their experiences of working with difficult co-stars. For example, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, who starred in the TV series Sex and the City, have had a famously contentious relationship over the years.

It’s worth noting, however, that not all actors who don’t get along on set end up disliking each other.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who worked together on the TV show Friends, had an awkward moment while filming a scene, but they were able to laugh it off and remain friends.

For Grant, his experience with Roberts on Notting Hill seemed to have left a lasting impact.

While he acknowledged her talent as an actress, he also spoke candidly about the difficulties he faced while working with her.

As for Roberts, she has not commented publicly on their relationship or Grant’s recent remarks.
