As 2020 passed us by with many surprising twists and turns but much fewer movie releases, Marvel’s next star-studded cinematic project, Eternals, left us with only a few blurry set images and a sneak peek of Angelina Jolie with a full head of blonde hair.

The 46-year-old actress portrays Thena, a warrior capable of conjuring any weapon from cosmic energy.

With long platinum-blonde hair and an ageless complexion, the Maleficent actress looks ethereal in what is most likely a wig.

The trailer opens with Hayek’s character Ajak providing some helpful exposition on the present state of events in a post-Thanos finger click world (if you know, you know) and describing the next Earth-ending imminent disaster. We’re sure we’ll get all the important plot details, but we’re here for Angelina Jolie, and thankfully, the trailer delivers.

Angelina Jolie’s natural hair color is dark brown, but she has gone blonde before, such as for her Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted.

Many Twitter users reacted positively to Angelina Jolie’s stunning new look.

“Angelina Jolie blonde? Yes Queen,” wrote one.

“Is It weird that the only thing I took away from this is Angelina Jolie blonde hair?” said another.

Jolie debuts in the video looking ethereal, accessorizing her new Marilyn Monroe-esque blonde hair with a spear and a bohemian white dress, before transforming to a brilliant white gold armour costume complete with an elf headpiece and a pair of golden swords later in the movie. Jolie’s blonde hair looks flawless even in the middle of a fight, in true superhero style.

In the upcoming Marvel film, Angelina Jolie stars alongside Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, and Kit Harington.

Fans will recall other times when the mother of six dyed her hair blonde for roles. The classic (and definitely not to be imitated) jagged micro-fringe in Girl, Interrupted was inspired by the blonde hair with a side fringe in the 2010 film Salt.

Externals is about a race of immortal creatures that molded Earth’s history and civilisations over thousands of years.

Angelina Jolie appears to be more picky about the roles she takes on these days. Since 2016, she’s only featured in five films, one of which is The Eternals.
