Keanu Reeves, the Canadian actor, is currently facing a paternity suit from a Canadian woman named Karen Sala, who claims that Reeves is the father of her adult children.

Sala is seeking millions of dollars in spousal and child support from Reeves, as well as retroactive payments dating back to the late 1980s.

Reeves’ lawyer, Lorne Wolfson, spoke in court to say that the paternity suit should be dismissed because a DNA test has conclusively shown that Reeves is not the father of Sala’s children.

Wolfson stated, “There is no basis to her spousal or child support claims, and as such there is no reason the matter should go forward.”

Sala, who is representing herself in court, disputed the DNA results and suggested that they had been tampered with or that Reeves had used hypnosis to affect the results.

Sala claimed that she had a sexual relationship with Reeves during and after her marriage and that they lived together.

However, Reeves vehemently denies ever having met Sala.

Sala insisted that Reeves is the father of her children, saying, “I do know for a fact that he is the biological father.”

She added that she has proof but cannot show it to the court.

Sala said that she had known Reeves since childhood, as he grew up down the street from her, but she did not connect him to the actor until much later because she knew him by the name Marty Spencer.

Wolfson, on the other hand, suggested that Sala’s ex-husband is actually the father of the children, as is stated in documents in their divorce proceedings.

He pointed out that Sala has declined to bring a motion to have her ex-husband’s DNA tested and has refused to produce her children’s birth certificates.

Reeves, who is now 57 years old, grew up in Toronto before leaving for Hollywood in 1986.

He has starred in many popular films, including “The Matrix” trilogy, “Speed,” and “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.”

Despite Sala’s claims, Wolfson reiterated that there is no basis for her spousal or child support claims, and he brought a motion in court that the case should not go to trial.

The case has been ongoing since 2008 when Sala first filed a paternity suit against Reeves in a Canadian court.

In 2019, Sala launched a similar lawsuit in California, but the case was dismissed in 2020.

Reeves has been notoriously private about his personal life and has rarely spoken about his romantic relationships in interviews.

In recent years, he has become somewhat of an internet meme and is often praised for his kindness and humility.
