Britney Spears’ social media has turned into a mystery.

The 39-year-old singer continued to perplex followers on Monday when she shared a creepy Victorian portrait of a newborn with a skull face.

“Devil is in the details [smiling devil emoji] …. wouldn’t want this baby to hit me one more time [three laughing emojis] !!!!” Britney wrote alongside the photo.

Despite the fact that this was a word play on her biggest song, Baby One More Time, fans hurried to the comments to see how she was doing.

The unusual message received over 200K likes, and some people were concerned, while others thought it was a sign.

Some of the comments:

“This is 100% a sign.”

“This has to mean something!”

“Okay guys what’s the hidden message!!?!!?”

“Clearly this ain’t Britney posting … sis we concerned.”

Others said the post was “creepy” and even “terrifying.”

Fans of the Free Britney campaign have been piecing together her social media for months, with many believing she has been pleading for aid during her conservatorship struggle.

She’s been posting images of red things with the word ‘RED!!’ for a few months now, and it’s left her fans with a lot of concerns.

The story is one of several that have surfaced in the wake of renewed discussion over Britney’s conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008, following her widely publicized mental health crisis.

Since 2008, the singer has not had total authority over her money and major life decisions, with her father Jamie Spears among others who have made decisions in her place.

Jamie was in charge of both the singer’s financial and personal affairs until stepping down from the latter post in September 2019 owing to health concerns.

Then, on a temporary basis, Jodi Montgomery, a care professional, took his position.

On March 26, she filed a petition to remove her father Jamie Spears as her conservator, which is the latest chapter in her quest for control over her life and wealth.

Spears and her lawyer requested that Jodi Montgomery, her professional care manager, be appointed as her permanent conservator after she was appointed temporarily in 2019 following Jamie’s health issues.

Jamie’s own counsel, Vivian Lee Thoreen, defended Mr Spears’ activities regarding the conservatorship earlier this month.

CNN quoted her as saying: “Whether or not there is an end to the conservatorship really depends on Britney. If she wants to end her conservatorship, she can file a petition to end it.”

Ms. Thoreen went on to say: “Jamie is not suggesting that he is the perfect dad or that he would receive any ‘Father of the Year’ award.

“Like any parent, he doesn’t always see eye-to-eye on what Britney may want.

“But Jamie believes every single decision he has made has been in her best interest.”
