On Saturday Night Live, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, who are known for their roles in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, participated in a sketch called “Spider-Man Kiss.”

The sketch involved filming a romantic scene between their characters, Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy, on the Brooklyn Bridge.

However, the couple had difficulty locking lips, and ended up trying a variety of unsuccessful methods to achieve the perfect kiss.

“How do normal people kiss?,” Garfield asked Stone. “I don’t know just try something,” Stone replies.

In an attempt to get it right, the pair smashed their cheeks together, stuck out their tongues, and tried to kiss with open mouths.

Garfield even picked up Stone and kissed her chin. Despite their efforts, they were unable to nail the scene.

Eventually, Chris Martin appeared on the scene, donned a wig, dipped Garfield, and leaned in for a kiss. Martin went on to perform “Magic” and “A Sky Full of Stars” with Coldplay.

During Garfield’s monologue, Stone made an appearance on stage to offer him some last minute advice.

She told him that he was funny and would do well, but reminded him that hosting SNL was different from his usual work.

“I got some advice from my Spider Man costar Emma Stone, she’s the greatest, and she’s hosted before,” Garfield said. “She told me Andrew you are one of the funniest people I know, you’re gonna be great, but this is different.”

“Don’t mind me. I’m not even here, I just wanted to say you’re doing so great,” Stone said as she walked onto the stage. “I actually thought of one more piece of advice for you, if you get into trouble at all, just remember the band that the band on SNL is really great and will laugh at anything. Right guys?”

Despite appearing to leave the stage, Stone continued to reappear throughout the night to give more advice, including suggesting that Garfield be more self-deprecating.

While Garfield and Stone have typically kept their off-screen relationship private, Stone recently spoke about her feelings for Garfield.

She called him one of the greatest actors alive and a “remarkable human being,” and said it was a dream to work with him.

The couple has been dating on and off for several years, and Stone was present to support Garfield during his first time hosting SNL.

The show is known for featuring sketches with humorous and often absurd plotlines, and “Spider-Man Kiss” was no exception.

The awkward and comical attempts at a romantic kiss provided a lighthearted moment during the show.
