Aly Michalka, who starred as Rhiannon in the film, recently revealed to E! News that there are “talks” about a potential sequel.

According to Michalka, the reports about the sequel are “semi-real.”

However, she did add that if the sequel does happen, it would be a “new retelling” of the story and would not feature the original cast members, Emma Stone and Penn Badgley.

This means that fans of the original movie are unlikely to see their favorite characters return in the sequel.

“Easy A” is an adaptation of the classic novel “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

The movie follows the story of a high school student named Olive Penderghast, played by Emma Stone, who lies to her best friend about losing her virginity.

As the rumor spreads throughout her school, Olive has to deal with the consequences of her actions.

The original film was well-received by both audiences and critics alike, and helped launch Emma Stone’s career.

In fact, her performance in “Easy A” earned her a Golden Globe nomination in 2011.

Despite the fact that the sequel has not been officially confirmed yet, it seems that the original screenwriter, Bert Royal, is already working on it.

In 2019, Variety reported that Royal was developing a “spinoff” movie, but it was still in the early stages of development.

At the time, sources told the publication that the forthcoming installment would focus on a new group of students and teachers.
