Actress Megan Fox has hit back at Robby Starbuck after he accused her of forcing her sons to “wear girls clothes”.
Fox took to Instagram to respond, calling out Starbuck for his “malicious and erroneous” claims and stating that he had put himself on “the wrong side of the universe”.
The actress, who shares three sons with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, went on to warn against using children as “leverage or social currency” under any pretence.
She also made reference to past experiences of being attacked by “insecure, narcissistic, impotent, little men” before ending her post with the words “You f—ked with the wrong witch”.
Starbuck, who describes himself as a “free thinker”, posted a tweet last Thursday in which he claimed to have witnessed two of Fox’s sons breaking down due to being forced to wear girls’ clothes by their mother.
He added that at the time a nanny and another witness were present, and that the alleged incident took place five years ago.
In a separate tweet, Starbuck revealed that he had worked with Fox in the past and that she had been “very nice” to him.
Green also refuted Starbuck’s claims, stating that only a few people could verify whether or not the story was true and affirming that he could say “with absolute certainty it is not”.
In April 2022, Fox revealed that her son Noah had been bullied for wearing dresses.
Speaking to Glamour UK at the time, she commented: “I just wish that humanity was not like this… Although my kid is so brave and I know that they’ve chosen this journey for a reason.
It’s just hard as a mom.”
This is not the first time that Fox has had to defend herself against accusations relating to her parenting style.
In 2020, she posted images of her sons wearing dresses on social media, leading to criticism from some users.
She subsequently hit back at critics, stating that she was “raising them to be confident” and adding that “boys can wear dresses too”.
Fox has been married to Green twice, divorcing him for the second time in 2020.
The couple had first wed in 2010 and announced their separation in 2015, before reconciling and renewing their vows in 2016.
Green has spoken out publicly in support of Fox’s relationship with Machine Gun Kelly, praising the musician as a “nice, genuine guy”.
Fox rose to fame following her role in the 2007 film Transformers, and has since appeared in a number of high-profile productions.
She has also been open about her experiences of being sexualised and objectified in the film industry, telling The New York Times in 2021 that she had been “judged and vilified for everything”.
The actress is known for her strong views on feminism and has previously spoken out about the need for greater gender equality.
In 2014, she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia: “I believe in all things feminine.
I believe that women are powerful.
I believe that we’re more powerful than men.
That’s my opinion, but it’s a true opinion.”
Despite the controversy surrounding Starbuck’s claims, Fox remains a popular figure among her fans.
In March 2023, she was named as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people.
The magazine praised Fox for her “fearless” performances and her “commitment to challenging stereotypes”.
