He wanted a face-off with just the Rocky star but the inclusion of a star-studded cast along with small screen time made him take a step back from the film.

When he was offered a part in the third installment, he initially agreed only if he got a larger part in the film but ultimately backed out.

It was reported that Stallone really wanted him to be a part of the franchise, which is why they even approached him for the fourth time in the upcoming film, but it was of no avail.

This was not the first time when the duo was unable to collaborate on a project.

The Hong-Kong-based martial artist was offered an antagonist role opposite Stallone in Demolition Man, but he turned down the offer.

They even planned to unite in the Chinese action film, X-Traction, but this time, the Tulsa King star backed out, with John Cena taking over his role.

Although fans are excited about the upcoming release, Jackie Chan is not among the star-studded cast.

The actor wanted a one-on-one faceoff with Sylvester Stallone in Expendables 4.

As per his interview, he said, “Sly, can’t we just do you and me?

Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.

Because then the audience is, ‘Oh!’ And then I’m gone.” But, the inclusion of a star-studded cast in addition to a small screen time was what made him take a step back from the film.

The Expendables franchise is known for its ensemble cast and constant appearance of veteran actors.

However, they are yet to bring Jackie Chan on board for the fourth installment.

Despite being approached four times, the Hong-Kong-based martial artist turned down the offers due to various reasons.

Although his request to join the fourth installment might have been quite difficult to comply with, it is still a hope of fans that he might appear in future installments.
