Actor Sylvester Stallone has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Rocky spin-off film Drago, and has taken to social media to voice his concerns.

Stallone posted on Instagram, sharing an article about the upcoming film and speaking out against those behind the production.

In his post, Stallone refers to a “94-year-old producer,” which is believed to be directed at the producer of the series, Irwin Winkler, who has received criticism from Stallone on various occasions in the past.

The actor also appears to reference Winkler’s children, Charles and David Winkler, who are also producers.

Stallone wrote, “Another Heartbreaker… Just found this out… ONCE AGAIN, this PATHETIC 94-year-old PRODUCER and HIS MORONIC USELESS VULTURE CHILDREN, Charles And David, are once again picking clean THE BONES of another wonderful character I created without even telling me.”

Stallone apologized to fans in the post, saying it was not his intention for the characters to be “exploited.”

He wrote, “I APOLOGIZE to the FANS, I never wanted ROCKY characters to be exploited by these parasites.”

The actor made it clear that he has no ill will towards actor Dolph Lundgren, who portrays Ivan Drago in the Rocky and Creed series and is set to reprise his role in the latest installment.

Stallone expressed, however, that he wishes Lundgren had informed him of the latest development, saying, “By the way, I have nothing but respect for Dolph but I wish HE had told me what was going on behind my back.”

Stallone has expressed his desire to take control of the franchise in the past and in a recent post, called on Winkler to give him what was left of the rights.

He wrote, “After IRWIN controlling ROCKY for over 47 years, and now CREED, I really would like [to] have at least a little [of] WHAT’s LEFT of my RIGHTS back, before passing it on to ONLY YOUR CHILDREN.”

The character of Rocky Balboa was created by Stallone as he was struggling to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

The character would go on to headline five films, with Stallone directing Rockys II-IV. He then returned for the Creed movies, starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed.

In a 2019 interview with Variety, Stallone shared his frustration over not having an ownership stake in the franchise, saying, “I have zero ownership of Rocky.”

“Every word, every syllable, every grammatical error was all my fault.

“It was shocking that it never came to be, but I was told, ‘Hey, you got paid, so what are you complaining about?’ I was furious.”

Fans will see Stallone back in the beloved role of Rocky Balboa when Creed III hits theaters this Nov. 23.

The future of the franchise and Stallone’s battle for control remains uncertain, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing their favorite character back on the big screen.
