Megan Fox should hopefully never have to take off her new engagement ring for an MRI or to do the dishes, or she’ll be in a lot of pain.

Megan Fox’s engagement ring, according to CNN, was designed to hurt her if she took it off.

The couple discussed their romance and the enormous new bauble on Fox’s finger with Vogue at the Dolce & Gabanna autumn 2022 menswear presentation on Saturday. The musician pointed out that his design features “bands [that] are actually thorns. “Love is pain!” he adds, “so if she tries to take it off, it hurts!”

“It’s a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment,” he continued, pointing out some additional unusual features of his fiancée’s ring. “It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine. And the diamond was directly from [jeweler] Stephen [Webster].”

“The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart.”

Kelly also stated why the two made public footage of his proposal, which he had recorded on his phone. He explained, “We released it to control the narrative. As opposed to someone just catching a weird cell phone picture of a ring on our hand and being like, whoa! But yeah, I didn’t expect it. I just recorded it on my cell phone. And it wasn’t like we had photographers or anything. It was just like me setting my phone against a cup.”

Kelly announced the Stephen Webster-designed ring on his verified Instagram account, along with a video of Fox flaunting her bling after he proposed on January 11. “Yes, in this life and every life,” he captioned the video.

“Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me,” Kelly wrote.

He released a close-up video of the ring on Fox’s hand on his Instagram account after proposing to her at the beginning of the month after one year of dating. “yes, in this life and every life’ 💍 beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me. i know tradition is one ring, but i designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022 ✨,” he said in the caption next to the video.

Webster also told People about the custom design, “By the use of magnets buried within the gold, [the rings] are attracted to each other and sit together perfectly on the finger. [It’s] a detail that is both modern and quite extraordinary.”

Billy Bob Thornton’s son compared them to his father and Angelina Jolie, who made headlines for carrying a vial of each other’s blood around their necks.
