According to US Weekly, Angelina Jolie has left Brad Pitt with a “huge cloud hanging over him” as the former couple battle it out in court.

“Brad is working hard and staying as positive as he can right now,” the source reveals, adding that the 57-year-old actor doesn’t consider dating to be a “priority” right now. “He’s just not mentally ready and doesn’t know when he next will be.”

The Fight Club star and the Maleficent actress called it quits in September 2016.

His lawyers have petitioned the California Supreme Court for a review of the actor’s continuing custody battle with his children Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 13. (Maddox, their oldest kid, is now 20.)

The actor’s legal team submitted a petition to challenge to private Judge John Ouderkirk’s recent exclusion from their case, thus nullifying a prior judgement that gave the Troy star additional time with the former couple’s five younger children.

His appeal to have his custody case with ex-girlfriend Angelina Jolie reviewed was dismissed, according to Page Six. According to a statement, Pitt’s legal team is doing all possible to “continue to do everything that’s legally necessary based on the detailed findings of the independent experts.”

‘This whole war with Angelina has really taken its toll [on Brad],’ the source added.

‘Thankfully he has his own incredible willpower to count on, plus a wonderful support group and the tools he’s learned in recovery when times get super tough.’

According to the source, the two-time Golden Globe winner has been on “some dates” and had “some fun” in recent years, but is now focused on himself and his children.

While going through a divorce and custody battle is never pleasant, it’s reasonable to assume that both Jolie and Pitt are mentally and physically tired. With that said, the longer the fight goes on, the less likely it is that anybody, even the children, will win.
