Margot Robbie has admitted that she once took a double dose of painkillers right before an audition and had a terrible outcome.
“I had this really small day surgery thing the day before a big audition that I really wanted the role for, and I was in so much pain,” the 31-year-old told The Sun in an interview, without revealing which film she was auditioning for.
Robbie went on to say that a buddy who had a recent root canal offered her two painkillers to take before the audition, but she didn’t realize one was intended to be kept for later. “I thought he meant to take two as the dosage, but he really meant to take two just in case I needed another one later,” the superstar explained.
‘I didn’t get time to eat breakfast so, on an empty stomach, I had two. I’m driving and halfway there I was suddenly like, ‘Oh my God, what a lovely day it is!,” she added. “I was off my head. It was a terrible audition, I’m sure!”
She did, however, explain that she had scheduled a driving test for after the audition, but she decided to postpone it after she realized how much medicine she’d taken.

Thankfully, a friend of the actress’s worked in the same building where she auditioned, so she turned to her for assistance.
“I ran to her office and was like, ‘Can you give me food or something? I think I’m high. I’m not sure but I think I’m high, help me.’ It was hilarious,” Robbie said.
It comes after the Suicide Squad actress shared her biggest career fear.
“Honestly, this keeps me up at night, this very question,” Robbie told Fox News. “Maybe it’s all downhill from here. Maybe I’m at the top and it can’t get any better,” she said, adding that she still has “a lot to give” as an actress.
“I hope that’s not the case, because I still feel like I have a lot to give and there’s still a lot of directors I want to work with. And, you know, I’m just going to keep climbing as long as I can.”
The actress is now a famous Hollywood celebrity, having been in a number of blockbusters such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Bombshell, and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood. She is the first to acknowledge, though, that the audition process remains intimidating.
“Auditions terrify me. I get nervous doing the early reads, even when I know that I’ve already got the part,” she said. “I still find that nerve-racking. I find them really scary.”
