Halle Berry Recalls That infamous Adrien Brody Oscars Kiss
Halle Berry has confessed that she had no idea what Adrien Brody was doing when he kissed her at the 2003 event.
The Oscar winner answered a caller’s inquiry about the kiss on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” who wondered if it was planned.

“That was not planned. I knew nothing about it,” the 50-year-old Catwoman actress confessed. “I was like, ‘What the f–k is happening right now?’ That was what was going through my mind,” she recalled of Brody pulling her in for a kiss. “And because I was there the year before and I know the feeling of being out of your body, I just f–king went with it.”
Brody received the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in “The Pianist” in 2003. Berry was the presenter, having won the Best Actress Oscar for “Monster’s Ball” the year before. Brody grabbed Berry and drew her into a strong embrace as he ascended the stage.
“I don’t know, I was too focused on what the f–k is going on right now,” she said when host Andy Cohen asked if she enjoyed the kiss. “I don’t even know!”

In 2015, Adrien was interviewed by Vanity Fair about the kiss. “Time slowed down,” he joked, explaining that “by the time I got finished kissing her… they were already flashing the sign to get off the stage, your time is up.”
Both parties have parodied that occasion several times since 2003. Brody made out with Queen Latifah before giving the Best Kiss award at the MTV Movie Awards that year. Meanwhile, during the 2009 Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, when she won the award for a Decade of Hotness, Berry smooched Jamie Foxx.
