Kristen Stewart has finally addressed President Trump’s bizarre 2012 tweets accusing her of cheating on boyfriend and “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson.

Donald Trump used Twitter in 2012 to express his feelings towards Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The Twilight actors had recently terminated their romance at the time, and both of their names were constantly in the news.

“He was mad at me a couple years ago, really obsessed with me a couple years ago,” Stewart stated at the Variety studio in Park City, Utah, referring to the tweets that targeted her personal relationships. “I can’t even understand it. I literally cannot even understand it. It’s such far-out concept that I don’t want to believe that actually is happening. It’s insane.”

Between October 17 and November 13, 2012, the future President posted five tweets criticizing the Hollywood couple.

Trump had said, “Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again–just watch. He can do much better!”

The actress recently said that her past relationship with Robert was converted into a product. Kristen stated, “It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life,” “It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.”

Stewart had dropped by Variety’s studio at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival only hours after the presidential inauguration to promote her short film, “Come Swim,” which marks her directorial debut. She also authored the film, which stars Josh Kaye, a newbie.

In July of that year, the actress was found cheating on Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, the director of “Snow White and the Huntsman”

But how did Trump’s tweets make her feel? She didn’t seem to mind. “At that point, he was just, like, a reality star,” Kristen said. “I had no reference. It wasn’t like really a thing.”

“He’s probably, like, going to tweet about this,” Stewart, who isn’t on Twitter, joked.

In addition, as we enter the post-Trump world, Kristen offers some words of encouragement for women. “Ladies, stand up for yourself!” Kristen said. “I’ve never been the most politically charged person, but I think at this point, it’s not political. It’s f–king so humanitarian. I would just say be a part of what you believe in, whichever way that is. I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel, but I’m pretty sure that we all feel the same way.”

The Women’s March, which will be organized by ardent anti-Trump comedian Chelsea Handler, is one of the most anticipated events during the Sundance Film Festival. Stewart will be marching with the “Come Swim” squad.
