Halle Berry has spoken out in support of emerging star Zendaya, revealing that she would love to portray her mother in a future film. Berry has had a long and distinguished acting career, appearing as Storm in the X-Men series and as Bond Girl Jinx in Die Another Day, the 20th installment of the James Bond story. Berry has received several prizes in the entertainment business, including a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Introducing Dorothy Dandridge in 1999, as well as an Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal in Monster’s Ball two years later.

Berry, 55, is now a fan of Zendaya and recently expressed interest in working alongside her, stating she’d proudly portray her mother and has even devised a way to make it happen.

In an interview with Variety, she said, “I have a plan. I would love to play her mother. I have an idea because I think she’s the future.”

One reader proposed Losing Zendaya, a reference to Berry’s 1995 movie Losing Isaiah, about a drug-addicted single mother. The Twitter community responded by becoming creative with their “pitches.”

“Plot: Z’s character is a drug addicted teen. Gets caught up in the wrong crowd. Gets kidnapped. Her mom (Halle Berry) has to rescue her,” one admirer tweeted.

“How about some fantasy for a change? Halle is descended from a secret coven of New Orleans witches but since left that life… Zendaya is raised with no knowledge of her mother’s powers/history until hers kick in at school”

“I GOT IT,” wrote another enthusiast. “The sequel I REALLY NEEEED. Okay so after Kill Bill. Black Mamba kills Copperhead and the child is left behind in the kitchen. Black Mamba tells her ‘If you ever want your revenge, I understand.’ Cut to now. Child was adopted, training for years [and] plotting her revenge.”

Previously, the “Catwoman” actor raved about her admiration for the former Disney Channel kid’s talent and prophesied big things for her future. Berry told “Variety” that she is “brave, not afraid to take chances, authentic, and wildly beautiful.”

“She’s not afraid not to be beautiful. I see her as an actress who will fight to be greater than her beauty. She’s not relying on it. She’s working hard as an actor, and she will take risks. I think she will surprise us along the way.”

Berry also lends Kravitz some guidance for her impending role as Selina Kyle, popularly known as Catwoman, in this year’s The Batman. Kravitz starred as Angel Salvadore (Temptest) in 2011’s X-Men: First Class, and both actors have been in the X-Men franchise. Berry previously stated that Kravitz would make a “wonderful” Catwoman, ignoring the fact that Berry’s tenure as The Cat was widely panned by critics, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of only 9%. Berry won a Razzie Award for Worst Actress for the film in 2004. Berry’s support for Kravitz, on the other hand, is consistent with her history of being a staunch supporter of her fellow actors.
