Actor Dakota Johnson has responded to a viral video that suggests she was aware of Johnny Depp’s injured finger while promoting a film in 2015.

The video, which was posted on TikTok, resurfaced in April as Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard were in the midst of a legal battle in which Depp was suing Heard for defamation and seeking $50 million in damages.

In court, Depp claimed that Heard had severed his finger with a vodka bottle during an argument a few months after their wedding in February 2015.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair’s Britt Hennemuth, Johnson addressed the video’s popularity and expressed confusion at being connected to the legal story.

“I was like, ‘For the love of God, why? Why am I involved in this?'” she said, shaking her head.

The actor went on to say that she had no recollection of the moment and didn’t want to be involved in the story in any way.

“I don’t remember that at all, but please, take me out of this,” she said. “Don’t let this go further. Can you imagine, oh, my God, if I was called to the witness stand?”

Johnson, who is set to star in a film adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion,” also expressed surprise at the way the trial was being treated like a show.

“I can’t believe that people are watching [the trial] like it’s a show,” she said. “It’s like it’s a courtroom drama and my heart breaks. It’s so, so, so crazy.”

In addition to discussing the viral video, Johnson also spoke about her “psychotic” experience while filming “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

She claimed that she wouldn’t have agreed to do the movies if she’d known what filming would be like.

On June 2, Depp won his defamation case against Heard, with a jury awarding him $15 million in damages.

The jury also awarded Heard $2 million for one part of her own counterclaim (that Depp’s lawyer had called her abuse allegations against her ex-husband a hoax).

In the legal battle, Depp had accused Heard of defamation over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in which she described herself as a domestic abuse survivor without mentioning Depp by name.

Depp maintained that the op-ed damaged his reputation and career. In her defense, Heard argued that Depp was abusive towards her and presented evidence of his alleged abuse in court.

The case garnered significant media attention and sparked debates about domestic abuse and the #MeToo movement.
