Amber Heard, the 37-year-old actress who has been away from the public eye since losing the defamation lawsuit filed by her ex-husband Johnny Depp in 2022, is returning to the big screen.
She will be starring in the upcoming thriller In The Fire, which is set to debut at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy.
This will be the first time she has promoted a film since her legal battle.
The movie takes place in Colombia in 1899, and Amber will play the role of a widowed American psychiatrist who travels to a farm in Colombia after being summoned to solve the case of a disturbed child.
The child’s mother is worried about the accusations made by a local priest that her son is possessed by the devil.
Upon arriving, the doctor discovers that the boy’s mother is dead, and his father believes that the child is possessed as well.
As the doctor uses her newly acquired psychiatric practices to cure the child, it becomes a race against time to save both the boy and herself.
She will be joined by her co-star Eduardo Noriego, 49, and director Conor Allyn to promote the film in Sicily.
The festival will take place from June 23 to July 1, 2023.
Amber will also appear in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, reprising her role as Mera for the superhero movie, which is set to hit theaters in December 2023.
Since the court case, Amber has been living in Spain with her two-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige, whom she had via surrogate in April 2021.
The devoted mother has been seen playing with her daughter in a park in Madrid, and when asked about her new life in Spain, she responded in Spanish, “I love Spain so much.”
Although Amber has been keeping a low profile, her return to the big screen is highly anticipated.
Her fans are excited to see her performance in the upcoming thriller and are looking forward to her reprising her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
