Scarlett Johansson and her husband Colin Jost have welcomed their first child.

On Wednesday, Aug. 18, the actress’s agent revealed to People that the pair had recently had their first child together. Colin would disclose the baby’s name and gender shortly after.

This is Johansson’s second kid; she and her ex-husband, Romain Dauriac, have a six-year-old daughter named Rose.

Jost announced the baby’s arrival on social media.

“Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much,” the “Saturday Night Live” star wrote.

The surprising announcement comes only a week after Jost revealed Johansson was expecting during a stand-up comedy gig. “We’re having a baby,” he had said. “It’s exciting.”

He played two sold out shows on Sunday [Aug. 15] and casually dropped that he and Scarlett are expecting soon.”

The couple managed to keep the pregnancy a secret, much to the surprise of Hollywood.

The pregnancy was initially reported in early July. Page Six was notified of the news by many sources. “Scarlett is actually due soon, I know she and Colin are thrilled,” one said.

Another added, “Scarlett is pregnant but has been keeping it very quiet. She has been keeping a very low profile.”

The “Saturday Night Live” star and the “Avengers” star married in October 2020.

Scarlett and Colin’s marrital status was originally announced by Meals on Wheels America last fall.

In a statement, the non-profit group said, “We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC.”

“Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica.”

Last July, the comedian expressed his wish to start a family as soon as possible. He told USA Today, “It’s strange because a switch kind of flipped for me [with fatherhood]—I don’t know—a year or two ago or something.”

“It’s definitely on my mind. It’s gonna be, I’m sure, very challenging, but I also think it could be really fun.”

Colin characterized Scarlett as having “a grace and a smile that I’ve still never seen in any other human” in his 2020 biography, adding, “I’ve met someone I love and who I feel more comfortable with than I ever have before. I feel more confident committing to what I’m working on and standing by whatever I create, regardless of whether people like it or not.”

The couple’s latest arrival comes as Johansson and Disney are at odds over the release of her newest picture, Black Widow.

Johansson recently launched a lawsuit against Disney for deciding to distribute Black Widow on Disney+ alongside theaters. She claimed that the internet distribution was in violation of her contract, and that her remuneration for the film was “largely based” on the box office success of Black Widow.

In response to Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit, Disney issued a divisive statement, revealing Johansson’s $20 million compensation for the film and declaring: “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
