Scarlett Johansson Discussed Most ‘Stressful’ Part Of ‘Weird’ Wedding To Colin Jost

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost’s wedding day wasn’t exactly conventional, but the couple managed to make the most of it.

She said it was a weird moment due of all the COVID-19 measures they had to take, including testing and custom-made Jost 2020 face masks for attendees, during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

‘It was a little stressful,’ she said. ‘Colin, as you know, is very fortunate that he has his grandparents still with him and there are several people in their 90s in his family. The Josts live forever! They live so long! And it’s crazy. And they are lively and vibrant and they were at our wedding and so obviously we wanted to take every precaution that we could, so we we had the masks made [that said] ‘Josts 2020.’ And everybody had to get tested 100,000 times,’ she continued, referring to the pandemic measures that they considered essential in order to keep the wedding safe.

Because of the masks and the pared-down guest list, viewing it all now feels like gazing into a very precise period in time, according to Johansson.

“I mean, it’s just weird. Looking back at the photos,” she said. “It definitely was a weird party favor that could only happen now, but you just gotta go with it.”

Aside from the weirdness of 2020, the couple was able to enjoy their wedding day and rejoice with family and friends.

“Even though it was small and intimate, it was beautiful and we were so happy to see people that we hadn’t seen in such a long time,” she said. “We just felt very fortunate to be able to get together like that. It felt like it was sort of how it was supposed to be … minus face masks.”

The two were originally linked in May 2017, and Johansson’s spokesperson announced the couple’s engagement to The Associated Press two years later. They married in October 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and love ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC,” the Meals on Wheels charity said at the time, alongside a photo of the Staten Island Ferry and the pun “Jost Married” on Instagram.

“Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica,” the message said. Fans were encouraged to donate via the organization’s website.

Even better, the couple is rumored to be expecting their first child together.
