According to insiders close to the Sussexes, Prince Harry’s harsh critique of his upbringing parallels insights provided by a younger Prince Charles in a memoir about his own miserable childhood.

When it came to raising his children, the Duke of Sussex declared that he wished to “break the cycle” of “pain and suffering.” As a primary factor, Harry alluded to Charles’ and, by extension, the Queen’s and Prince Philip’s parenting.

On the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard, the Duke of Sussex described the “genetic pain and suffering” he believes was passed down to him through his royal ancestors, admitting that he swapped Buckingham Palace and Frogmore Cottage for California with Meghan and their son Archie in order to “break the cycle”

Harry stated that he struggled with his mental health and questioned whether he would ever be able to live a settled life with a family.

He also informed Dax that he intended to raise his children differently than he was reared, citing “genetic pain” as something he wished to avoid.

This royal bombshell comes as Princess Diana’s former butler warned that a forthcoming documentary about her may ‘drive Harry and Meghan apart’ with ‘scandalous’ allegations.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, was chastised by Royal aides on Monday for allegedly demonstrating a ‘woeful lack of compassion’ for his family by claiming that Prince Charles and the Queen had failed him as a youngster.

Charles also portrayed the Queen as physically and emotionally aloof, and he characterized his father, Prince Philip, as “harsh” and “hectoring”

Harry’s statements about his family during his original appearance with Oprah, as well as more recently on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, have gotten him into trouble.

“There is no blame. I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically,” he said.

He and Meghan claimed a member of the Royal Family was “concerned” about the skin color of their newborn Archie, and Harry claimed his father, Prince Charles, was no longer taking his calls.
