The hardest scene Emily Blunt has Ever Filmed

Even if you’ve only seen the trailer for A Quiet Place, you’re likely aware that the movie cranked up the “intensity” dial to 10. And, according to Emily Blunt, who won a SAG Award for her performance in the thriller on Sunday night, filming some of the most brutal moments was equally as intense as the final product.

The worst one? Her birth scene.

“I will say, emotionally it was the most daunting to do the birth sequence because I knew it was going to be a beast,” she said at the SAG Awards press room, palming her award in a dazzling pink, sequined Michael Kors gown. “We would shoot it for 5 days straight, you know, giving birth, from the moment the water breaks till the moment I’m in the bathtub, which still makes my mother cry, she doesn’t like watching that one.”

She continued: ‘So, I think that was the most daunting to shoot. I didn’t necessarily find them as frightening as the audience did….more of an emotional task, you know?’

“It’s funny,” she added. “You’re doing a film like A Quiet Place, which is full of frightening moments and sequences. You’re playing someone who is under great duress the entire time. In some ways it’s sort of more technical shooting those scenes to create the best way to make a scare.”

Emily Blunt Recalls Moment Her Daughter Asked If She and John Krasinki Are Famous

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, a British actress, are one of the few Hollywood couples renowned not only for their acting and films, but also for their personal lives. The couple has been married for almost a decade and has two children together, Violet, 4, and Hazel, 7.

Blunt stated why she wants their children to be “oblivious” to her and Krasinski’s celebrity in a recent interview with The Sunday Times.

“If [my children] can remain oblivious for the longest time I’d be thrilled,” she started.

Emily went on to describe how she handled a question from one of her kids, Hazel, who asked whether she was a celebrity, saying, “it’s a strange thing to navigate. [She] came home the other day and we were in the kitchen and she goes, ‘Are you famous?’”

“And I’d never heard her… We’ve never said that word in our house. We don’t talk about it,” the actress added. “Someone at school had clearly said it. I was like, ‘Um…not really, I don’t think I am.’”

“Did someone say that to you, Haze?’ She said, ‘Yeah,’ but then she wouldn’t divulge much more, you know, but it’s weird. It’s weird.”

In 2010, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski got married. Despite her and her husband’s enormous success in the entertainment world, she wants her girls to solely think of them as “Mom and Dad.”

“I don’t want my kids to feel any more important or special or that there’s a glare on them any more than other kids,” she added. “If they can remain oblivious for the longest time, I’d be thrilled. They don’t even want to see what I do.”

She revealed, “They don’t even like it when I put on make-up. They don’t like any of it! They just
want me to be their mummy.”

When asked if she wants her children to be actors, the actress provided a straightforward answer.

“God no—no!” said Blunt. “Please God keep them off the stage.”
