After three years on K.C. Undercover, Zendaya and the Disney Channel are parting ways.

“Tonight is the last episode of KC, and therefore my last episode on Disney channel….” the 21-year-old actress tweeted on Friday, reflecting on her final KC Undercover episode. Zendaya’s first on-screen job was on Disney Channel eight years ago, so this was an emotional event for her.

The program follows an outspoken and confident technical genius (who also happens to be a competent black belt) as she learns that her parents are spies who want her to continue in their footsteps.

Zendaya responded with a brief message on Instagram, describing it as the “end of an era” and thanking her fans for “continuing to grow” alongside her. She even included a photo of herself drawing the Disney Channel’s signature mouse ears—she looks so young!

Given that it was just her second time acting in a film, the actress turned to Instagram to thank her current The Greatest Showman ensemble for “believing in me.”

The star of The Greatest Showman reportedly received enough “NOOOO!”-es to warrant a casual reminder that re-runs exist, so K.C. fans can at least comfort themselves by revisiting their favorite moments when they broadcast.

According to People, Zendaya, who has been a part of the show since 2015, is moving on to bigger and better projects, including blockbuster films with co-stars Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron, such as Spider-Man and The Greatest Showman, which has received numerous awards nominations, including this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Zendaya’s star power was just recognized on the cover of Vanity Fair’s 2018 Hollywood Issue. There’s no denying she stood out among so many industry veterans.

“Finding out who you are is a difficult process and I think that everybody is going through it for their entire life,” she told the outlet. “For me, I think it’s A, accepting that we are constantly growing and changing, and the person I was a year ago is not who I’m going to be in a year.”

In addition to acting and singing, the actress and singer has dabbled in producing. Her next project, which she is co-producing with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter, has lately gotten a lot of press for her main part in the historical thriller A White Lie.

While A White Lie is set for release in 2019, the talented artist will not be resting on her laurels in 2018. Zendaya will voice Chi, an adorable duckling in Open Road’s animated picture Duck Duck Goose, which will be released in the spring. She’ll also appear in the Warner Animation Group’s animated comedy Smallfoot, alongside Channing Tatum, LeBron James, and Gina Rodriguez, among others.

She’ll also star alongside Tom Holland in the upcoming Spider-Man flick.

It’s the end of a significant chapter, but we’re excited to watch where this young star’s career goes next.
