An author claims that Prince Charles can’t take Prince Harry’s criticism of the royal family because he is “immensely sensitive”

Three months after Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, stunned the world with their claims, a royal author and vocal coach has addressed Charles’ “shyness”

“Prince Charles is a very, very shy man, a very sensitive and delicate man, but we see his public personality, but in private, he’s immensely sensitive,” Pearce told Us Weekly. “When we’re sensitive, if we’re dealing with very strong, combustible emotion on the outside of us, people tend to go into fight or flight,” he continues. When Princess Diana accused him of having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, for example, “what he did was to shrink back and as a result of that became an aloof,” Pearce explained. “Well, that doesn’t heal the challenge that’s taking place.”

He also addressed Harry’s allegation that his father stopped returning his calls when he and Meghan left the UK to establish a new life over the pond after the Brexit.

According to the author, Prince Charles “hides” if he is unable to cope with issues due to his sensitivity.

“And what Harry’s trying to do is to heal that. Not out of umbrage, not out of anger or revenge or criticism or accusation. … I felt that he was just somebody saying, ‘This is the way that it is, and this is why we want to make change.’”

Harry explores mental health in his AppleTV+ series, The Me You Can’t See, and opens up about how his royal upbringing contributed to his anxiety and despair, reflecting on his father’s attitude to the issue.

“My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to [Prince] William and I, ‘Well, it was like that for me, so it’s gonna be like that for you.’ That doesn’t make sense. Just because you suffered, it doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer. In fact, quite the opposite. If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever experiences, negative experiences that you had, you can make it right for your kids.”

On Shepard’s podcast, he said that knowing about his parents’ “pain and suffering” motivated him to try to break the cycle of damage for his own family.

According to a royal insider, the Prince of Wales was enraged by the series. “Charles is boiling with anger and feels tortured by Harry with his constant digs. He wishes he’d just let it drop,” a source said in May. “The general consensus within the royal family is to ignore Harry’s behavior, to avoid fanning the flames, but Charles is finding it hard to hold back. He really wants to defend himself.”

These kinds of open discussions about his childhood left Charles “devastated,” according to a friend of the Prince of Wales. “He is such a gentle man and a dedicated father first and foremost. Knowing him, he’ll be feeling wretched and will take no joy or happiness in what’s going on within the family. But he will also want to seek a reconciliation. He is not vindictive at all, and he wants to make peace with Harry.”

According to recent reports, Charles and his son are now in ” regular contact ” after the birth of Lilibet.

The former working royal is scheduled to travel enter the UK from California next month for another meeting with his family.

On July 1, Harry will join William at Kensington Palace to present a specially commissioned statue of their late mother, Princess Diana.
