It’s been said that Liam Hemsworth has a ‘low opinion’ of his ex-wife Miley Cyrus, and that he doesn’t look back fondly on their marriage.

Since their tumultuous breakup a year ago, Liam Hemsworth’s opinion of his Cyrus is said to have plummeted.

A source told Us Weekly, ‘Liam kind of has a low opinion of Miley at this point. He was really hurt by their split.’

The two “haven’t talked much” since their divorce, according to the source, and Hemsworth was “hurt” by how swiftly his ex moved on.

Hemsworth and Cyrus married in August 2019 after less than a year of marriage. They met on the shooting of Nicholas Sparks’ film The Last Song in 2009. In January 2020, the couple, who had been together on and off for over ten years, formalized their divorce. After his separation with the former Disney Channel actress, the Hunger Games actor relied on his family, especially brothers Chris and Luke Hemsworth, according to Us Weekly.

“[He] has had the support of his family to help him move on,” the source claimed. “Liam has been trying to be as private as possible and respectful about their relationship and breakup, and it’s a shame to him and his family that certain aspects about his and Miley’s relationship have been made public. He’s a very traditional and good guy and was very hurt by the way specific instances played out in front of the world.”

Cyrus had a short relationship with Kaitlynn Carter after the divorce before starting a relationship with singer Cody Simpson, which terminated recently.

According to a source at Us Weekly, “Liam has been trying to be as private as possible and respectful about their relationship and breakup, and it’s a shame to him and his family that certain aspects about his and Miley’s relationship have been made public. He’s a very traditional and good guy and was very hurt by the way specific instances played out in front of the world.”

Miley has been open about her breakup with Liam in recent weeks, claiming that she gave up her virginity to her Last Song co-star when she was 16 and that she felt ‘villainized’ when they parted last year.

‘I felt like my story and my narrative had kind of been told for me over the past year,’ Miley stated on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show.

‘Obviously I went through an extremely public break-up and, even more than that, a divorce, and with someone that I had been with for 10 years.

‘I felt kind of villainised. I also felt like I kind of shut down, because it was kind of, respectfully, below me to engage with the press and the media at that time.’

Liam was caught off guard by the breakup announcement, which was made while he was in Australia, according to Page Six.

According to those close to him, he had been attempting to save the marriage, but the news put an end to all thoughts of reconciliation, and he filed for divorce on August 21.
