Kanye West acquired a single-story property just across the street two months after Kim Kardashian formally converted the marital home to be entirely in her ownership, according to the New York Post.

West has been waging a campaign to win back his wife by making public pronouncements of desire to reunite for the past month or so. This decision to purchase a home on her block might be interpreted in a variety of ways, but it’s most likely that he wants to stay near by in order to maintain their strong co-parenting relationship with their four children.

The $4.5 million property has 5 bedrooms and is little over 3,650 square feet. He allegedly paid $421,000 more than the asking price, demonstrating that the SoCal real estate bidding war is still going strong.

According to the ad, Kanye’s five-bedroom, four-bathroom property in Hidden Hills went on the market for the first time in 67 years on December 1 for $USD 4.079 million ($A 5.5 million).

It contains a pool and a stable, for among his many abilities, West is also a horse trainer. The mansion is said to require some maintenance, but West is no stranger to property management. West bought a $57.3 million mansion in Malibu in September and listed his prior bachelor pad for $3.7 million.

Despite its age, the home looks to be well-kept. The large front lawn was recently replaced with drought-resistant AstroTurf, which is a good thing for the water bill, given that July temperatures in the San Fernando Valley may reach 110 degrees. The current kitchen was refurbished in 2005 and has a large island, granite worktops, and generic-looking white stoves and dishwasher. (There are no scary white refrigerators on the grounds, thank goodness.)

There’s no indication on when — or even if — Ye will move in, or whether or not improvements will be done.

Although West and Kardashian’s divorce is still ongoing, Kardashian recently requested to have her ex’s name removed from her own and to be “officially single,” leaving the rest of their property and assets to be addressed later. Kardashian is dating comedian Pete Davidson and has been spending time with him in the run-up to the holidays.

Kanye has launched a full-court effort to reclaim Kim, as we’ve reported… most recently, at his show with Drake at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, he improvised lyrics to “Runaway”… … I need you to run right back to me, more specifically Kimberly.”
