Kim Kardashian faced criticism after comparing her weight loss efforts to that of A-list actors who have undergone dramatic transformations for movie roles.

The reality star recently lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into a $5 million dress inspired by Marilyn Monroe, which she wore to the Met Gala last month.

In an interview with The New York Times, she said, “OK, Christian Bale can do it for a movie role and that is acceptable.” Bale famously lost 62 pounds for his role in The Machinist, while Renee Zellweger gained weight for her role in The Thing About Pam.

However, Kim’s comments did not sit well with fans, who took to social media to express their disapproval.

One Reddit user wrote, “The fact she compared herself to Bale and other actors gaining or losing weight for their JOB is amazing.” Another called her “harmful” for openly admitting to “starving” herself for the Met Gala.

Despite the backlash, Kim maintained that she did not do anything unhealthy to lose the weight.

She claimed to have run twice a day, worn a sauna suit, and followed a diet free of carbs and sugar.

She also compared her weight loss to a movie role, saying, “It was such a challenge. It was like a [movie] role.”

Kim’s determination to fit into the dress paid off, but it did not come easy.

She revealed to Vogue at the Met Gala that she had not had carbs or sugar in about three weeks.

“It was like a [movie] role,” she said. “I was determined to fit [into] it.”

Kim’s weight loss sparked a larger conversation about body image and the pressures placed on women, particularly those in the public eye.

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart criticized Kim’s comments in the interview, calling her “stupid” for “starving” herself.

“When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word,” she said.

Kim’s comparison to Christian Bale and Renee Zellweger also raised questions about the different standards placed on men and women in Hollywood.

While Bale’s weight loss is praised as a testament to his dedication as an actor, Zellweger’s weight gain was met with criticism and speculation about her health.

It is worth noting that Kim’s weight loss methods, such as wearing a sauna suit, are not recommended by health experts.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend losing no more than two pounds per week through a combination of healthy eating and exercise.

The criticism of Kim’s weight loss comes amid a larger cultural shift towards body positivity and acceptance.

Many celebrities have spoken out against the pressure to conform to traditional beauty standards, and campaigns like #BodyPositivity and #EffYourBeautyStandards have gained popularity on social media.
