Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have previously denied being on the verge of divorce, but according to reports, the two recently had a very public argument at the opening of her new film Lion in Sydney.

Keith, 49, and Nicole had a “furious row” after speaking to the media at the event, according to an eyewitness. The pair allegedly greeted reporters before hurling “bitter insults” at one other in the press line.

Keith’s supposed anger with his wife’s profession allegedly coming in the way of their reunited family time in Australia is said to be the source of the alleged conflict.

Keith’s six-month music tour and Nicole’s two consecutive feature releases meant that the two spent the most of 2016 apart.

“They were meant to meet up in Sydney for a family Christmas, leaving work aside for a couple of weeks and concentrating on themselves for once,” the source said.

The veteran actress has a grueling publicity schedule for Lion to stir up Academy support, and her spouse is said to be annoyed by it.

A source added, “Nicole is so sick of Keith constantly sulking. He needs to realise that Nicole’s career is important to her, and to start being more supportive. It’s very frustrating for her.”

Another story from late November said the pair participated in a $10,000 two-day couple’s retreat in an attempt to save their 10-year marriage. “Nicole and Keith have been battling problems for a long time now, and it’s gotten to the point where it’s make or break,” a close friend of the couple told Woman’s Day magazine in Australia.

“Nicole has told friends they’re giving their marriage three months and have decided to go their separate ways and consciously uncouple if they can’t work through their problems,” the insider went on to say.
