How luck led Bruce Willis to fame

If you’d asked Bruce Willis when he was younger if he wanted to be a movie star, he may have looked at you like you were insane.

At the age of 17, Willis had a huge break when he was cast in a high school performance of “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.”

Willis told Reader’s Digest, “A miraculous thing happened. I was doing this goofy play and when I got onstage, I stopped stuttering. When I stepped off the stage, I started stuttering again. And I went, ‘This is a miracle. I got to investigate this more.’”

Willis attributes part of his comedic success to his stammer in retrospect.

He observed, “I think my sense of humor derived from the fact that I did stutter. As if, ‘Well, yeah, I stutter, but if I can make you laugh, maybe you won’t be so aware of it.’”

Actress Kathryn Prescott in ICU After Being Hit By a Cement Truck in NYC, ‘Lucky to Be Alive’

After a terrible accident, Kathryn Prescott is recovering in the hospital. Her twin sister, Megan Prescott, posted on Instagram that the 30-year-old British actress, who played Emily Fitch on Skins and Carter Stevens in Finding Carter, was hit by a cement truck in New York City this week.

“I received the most terrifying phone call I’ve ever received in my life on Tuesday evening. My twin sister Kathryn was hit by a cement truck while crossing a road in New York on the 7th September,” she wrote.

Megan stated, “After fighting through complex surgery some of Kathryn’s injuries include: broken pelvis in two places, both of her legs, her foot and her left hand. She narrowly avoided paralysis. The doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery but this will only be possible with the correct care right now.”

Megan, who is based in the United Kingdom, says Kathryn is presently “alone in New York with no family members,” Kathryn starred in the 2019 film A Dog’s Journey and acted with her twin in the British television series Skins.

“[Kathryn] is alone in New York with no family members,” Megan added. “I need help getting to New York to support her recovery. I will have to help her until she can start to walk again.

“I need to be there to help her with literally everything as she will be able to do incredibly little by herself. She will be in rehab for a very long time and will need 24/hr care even after she leaves the hospital.”

Under the existing travel restrictions, Megan’s application to go to the United States to assist her sister was denied by the US Embassy. She is now seeking assistance in order to perhaps reverse the judgment.

“I applied to the US Embassy for exemption from the current restrictions banning any non-US citizens into the US and was denied earlier today and I am devastated,” she explained. “I am double vaccinated, I had a PCR test yesterday and can fly at the drop of a hat. I have documents from the hospital confirming the extent of Kathryn’s injuries and am willing to do anything to get to her as soon as humanly possible.”

Megan added honestly, “I don’t know what to do with myself. I have to be able to get to my sister to care for her and right now I have no way of doing so. I know there is so much going on in the world right now but I am heartbroken that I can’t be with my twin sister in this horrible time in her life when she desperately needs me—I don’t want her to go through this alone.”

Megan requested that followers let her know if there is a solution to her travel problems. She also begged that people refrain from contacting Kathryn while she recovers.

“I’m so sorry to hear this Meg, if only I could do more to help,” April Pearson, Kathryn and Megan’s former Skins co-star, responded to the post.
