Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky may be ready to sell their Byron Bay property only months after finishing the contentious $30 structure.

Despite the fact that the Broken Head property was only completed early this year, the pair is seeking to sell it and relocate to another place, according to the Courier Mail.

The couple are rumored to be interested in moving elsewhere in the posh hamlet.

In recent years, Byron Bay has been synonymous with the Hollywood actor; yet, it appears that, despite his plans to sell his property, Thor will remain in the region.

According to The Courier Mail, the A-listers recently ‘inspected a large landholding at nearby Lennox Head.’

However, that property was eventually sold to some Sydney residents for around $15 million to be used as a vacation house.

The couple is thought to have paid $9 million for the property and spent $18 million developing the compound.

The estate was built over the course of three years on a hilltop surrounded by 4.2 hectares of quiet property with magnificent views of the area’s Seven Mile Beach.

The cost of the 50-meter rooftop infinity pool alone was expected to be at least $400,000, a gigantic internal painting may be worth up to $100,000, and the landscaping bill would have been over $500,000.

It has a gym, a steam room, a video room, a games room, as well as extensive outdoor living and play areas. It also has its own 10-pin bowling alley with two lanes.

To power the house, hundreds of solar panels have been included into the architecture.

Although the structure is only one story, the staggered floors give it the appearance of being multi-leveled.

Mr Natoli, whose Jcorp Construction refurbished publicist Roxy Jacenko’s $6.5 million Vaucluse property, called the Hemsworths’ house an “LA-style mansion.”

Mr Natoli added, ‘It’s a gorgeous house. Technically it’s one level but it’s sort of stepped to make it feel as one.

‘You could say it’s an LA sort of mansion-style design. It’s a very contemporary LA-style, where everything is indoor-outdoor living.’

The couple designed the house with large glass windows and doors that opened up to the rooftop recreational space, which included a pool and adjacent bushland.

‘When it opens up it feels like the outdoors and indoors are all one,’ Mr Natoli said.

The scale of Fortress Hemsworth has not been well received by all residents.

‘I thought Byron would be Noosafied but apparently it’s being Hollywooded,’ one said on Facebook last year.

‘It’s obscene, greedy, flashy, vulgar opulence at its finest and has no place in the Byron I once knew and love,’ said another lady.

‘A sad sign of things to come due to greedy, unfettered development policy.’

The market value has increased dramatically since the old residence was demolished and rebuilt, according to Lloyd Edge, founder and director of Aus Property Professionals and author of the best-selling book Positively Geared.

‘I estimate that in the current market the property could sell for up to $30million,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

The Gold Coast Bulletin said that the concrete design includes 10 bathrooms, two bars, a media room, and multiple living areas for the couple and their three daughters India Rose, seven, and five-year-old twin twins Tristan and Sasha.

During development, the project drew a lot of attention and was dubbed “obscene, greedy, flashy, and vulgar” by angry residents.

The venue was also compared to a suburban retail mall, a rebuilt RSL club, and even a regional airport terminal by the same residents.

Others likened it to a multi-story parking garage.

The new Broken Head landmark’s sheer grandeur was the most remarkable part for Sydney contractor Jason Natoli, who specializes in luxury restorations.

Mr Natoli said, ‘It’s ginormous. You’ve got an infinity pool with a spa, five bedrooms with five ensuites, a large indoor-outdoor kitchen, a four-car garage.

‘There’s a cinema room, massage room, sauna room, steam room, games room with a bar. There’s also a mud room – I’ve never heard of that before.’
