According to BBC, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has been granted joint custody of his children with his ex-wife, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, in a tentative judgement by a California court judge. According to the story, Pitt’s time with his children would be “significantly increased” as a result of the decision. This is a “tentative decision,” according to Page Six.

This comes months after back-to-back court appearances with his ex-wife.

Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox are the children of the 57-year-old actor and the 45-year-old actress. Maddox, who is 19 years old, is not affected by the custody judgment.

According to an earlier AP article, Jolie is dissatisfied with Judge John Ouderkirk because he has refused to allow the children to testify for themselves. According to The Associated Press, she also attempted to disqualify the judge by claiming that “he declined to hear evidence she says is relevant to the children’s safety and well-being before issuing a tentative ruling.”

According to the same report, if Judge Ouderkirk’s preliminary custody judgment is made official, Jolie will file an appeal.

The Maleficent actress has been attempting to gather proof in order to prevent Brad from becoming her partner in joint custody of their children. She was vying for sole custody and bringing up plenty of witnesses to establish Brad’s claimed domestic abuse past.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, and the couple has been fighting for custody ever since.

It was stated that Jolie had not objected to joint custody, but that there were “other issues of concern.” Another source reported the trial lasted many months and included a significant number of witnesses, specialists, and therapists. The judge’s decision not to allow their children to speak in custody hearings has been criticized by the actress.

When she filed for divorce, she cited “irreconcilable differences.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie began dating in 2005 and married in 2014.

In April of 2019, they were officially deemed single.

“He is over the moon” a source close to Brad told TMZ, understanding that the judgment is preliminary at the moment and only a legal formality until it becomes official.

Brad was seeking “50/50 physical and legal custody of the kids” according to a source close to him in September 2020.
