Christian Bale’s behavior on set has been criticized in the past, and Sharon Stone is defending him.

Stone, who appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote her novel The Beauty of Living Twice, was asked whether she wanted to apologize for any on-set tantrums, but she instead opted to defend Bale.

“I would not say so much for myself, but I can certainly say that I see that with such, you know, brilliant actors,” Stone said. “Christian Bale, who completely transforms himself into someone else, whether he’s playing George Bush or whether he’s playing an anorexic or whether he’s playing an O.C.D., you know, stockbroker, he becomes a different person.”

A video showing Bale screaming at a cinematographer who had stepped onto the set of Terminator Salvation to inspect a light during the production of a scene went viral in 2009. Christian Bale allegedly threatened to damage the cinematographer’s lighting equipment. Despite the fact that the former has apologized for his outburst, Sharon Stone did not believe it was a big problem. People must “grow up,” she stated.

“People, you know, want to get up in his business while he’s trying to completely transform into another person,” said Stone. “Then he’s like, ‘Get away from me!’ And then they want to criticize him for not being available to them. I find that a little bit…you know, maybe they should just grow up.”

Stone also said she was encouraged to have sex with a co-star and was also deceived about the explicit scene in Basic Instinct in 1992.

Sharon Stone’s memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, is slated to be released soon. By March 30, 2021, the book should be ready for purchase. Sharon Stone documents her efforts to rebuild her life, as well as the gradual path back to wholeness and health, in the book, as described in the Google Books description. Stone found the strength to return, the confidence to speak up, and the will to make a difference in the lives of women and children all over the world in an industry that doesn’t tolerate failure.
