Christian Bale gets fat and unrecognizable for biopic

Actor Christian Bale is preparing for a new role in which he will portray former Vice President Dick Cheney in the biopic “Backseat.”

Bale is known for his drastic transformations for various movie roles, including losing over 62 pounds for “The Machinist” and gaining weight for “American Hustle.”

For his role as Cheney, Bale has once again gained weight and shaved his head, making him almost unrecognizable.

Bale was seen at a Beverly Hills press conference for his film “Hostiles,” where he sported his new look.

When asked about the weight gain, Bale joked, “I’ve just been eating a lot of pies.” “Backseat” will reunite Bale with “The Big Short” director Adam McKay and actor Steve Carell, who will play Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Amy Adams, who previously worked with Bale in “American Hustle,” will portray Cheney’s wife Lynne, while Sam Rockwell and Bill Pullman will play George W. Bush and Nelson Rockefeller, respectively.

Cheney served as Vice President under Bush from 2001 to 2009 and played a significant role in US foreign policy during that time, particularly in regards to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“Backseat” will explore Cheney’s time in office and his influence on US politics.

“Hostiles” stars Bale as a US Army Captain who is tasked with escorting a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands in 1892.

The film, set in 1892, follows the captain as he reluctantly agrees to this duty.

Bale has proven himself to be a dedicated and versatile actor, consistently taking on challenging roles and undergoing dramatic physical transformations.
