Robert Downey Jr. may have gone to great lengths to express his devotion to Chris Pratt amid backlash that erupted after some on the internet labeled the Guardians Of The Galaxy actor the ‘worst Chris.’

In an Instagram post, Robert Downey Jr. referred to Chris as his “#Brother” and “A real #Christian who lives by #principle”:

“What a world… The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt… A real #Christian who lives by #principle, has never demonstrated anything but #positivity and #gratitude… AND he just married into a family that makes space for civil discourse and (just plain fact) INSISTS on service as the highest value,” Downey Jr. wrote.

He went on to say, “If you take issue with Chris, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness.”

However, astute Avengers fans suspected something was wrong with the image uploaded with the message, which they believe had Spider-Man actor Tom Holland totally Photoshopped out of it.

Fans can recognize the location of Downey Jr.’s shot because Holland shared a similar photograph on Instagram in February 2017 while raving about the opportunity to work with “legends” Downey Jr. and Pratt on “Infinity War.”

It’s unmistakably the same photograph, and if you look closely, you can even see the smudges where the Spider-Man star used to be.

One Twitter user said, “RDJ’s team photoshopping Tom Holland out of this photo to do damage control for Chris Pratt bc they had no other photos of the two of them together is so…..funny.”

‘Good shop job tho team! Sorry to the person who was almost certainly underpaid for this,’ said @sheherzog afterwards, mocking whoever was involved.

Some have criticized all of the stars who have decided to support Pratt while remaining silent on other topics. “And where were you when Brie Larson was getting ruthlessly attacked for months by millions of men online with death threats and constant harassment simply for existing?” a comment on Downey Jr.’s Instagram reads.

Several fans modified their own versions to depict Tom fading away using the Avengers: Endgame digital disintegration effect.

Robert’s apparent editing blunder comes after the Avengers rallied to support Chris Pratt, who was dubbed ‘Hollywood’s Worst Chris,’ with many condemning his membership in an anti-LGBTQ church and conservative views.

Pratt remained silent in the face of the attacks. But Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana, James Gunn, Josh Gad, and Josh Brolin came out in support.
