Charlize Theron has stated that she is raising her first child as a girl, despite the fact that he was born a boy.

“I am not a boy,” Jackson reportedly told the Hollywood star when he was three years old.

Rumors have been circulating for years that Charlize has been raising Jackson as a female.

As photos of the youngster in skirts and gowns with long, braided hair have surfaced, Hollywood insiders have speculated what Jackson’s mother was thinking.

Jackson’s mother, on the other hand, disclosed everything in a recent interview.

“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” Charlize said to the Mail online. “Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!'” August, Theron’s other kid, is a girl who was also adopted.

“So there you go!” continued the Mad Max and Monster star. “I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.”

“They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”

“My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be,” the Benoni-born actress added.

‘And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.’

Charlize claims that her mother’s strength and forthrightness in dealing with issues allows her to view things clearly and confidently.

After Charlize’s violent father returned home from work in a rage and threatened to murder them both, her mum Gerda shot him dead in self-defense.

‘You can blame my mom for the fact I don’t know any better!’ she jokes. “You know, I grew up in a country where people lived with half-truths and lies and whispers and nobody said anything outright, and I was raised very specifically not to be like that.”

‘I was taught by my mom that you have to speak up; you have to be able to know that, when this life is over, you’ll have lived the truth you’re comfortable with, and that nothing negative can come from that.’

Theron’s tumultuous upbringing has been well-documented. Her mother was routinely beaten by her drunken and violent father while she grew up in Crystal Park, east of Johannesburg.

Charlize Theron, who has starred in films including The Devil’s Advocate and Mighty Joe Young, adopted Jackson in 2012, and her other daughter, August, three years later.

Several transgender activists have expressed their support for Charlize Theron’s views on social media.

“Thank you Charlize for being the type of parent all kids deserve,” remarked American lawyer and transgender activist Chase Strangio.
