The upcoming film ‘Bullet Train,’ starring Brad Pitt, will involve stunts done by the actor himself.

Pitt previously won an Oscar for his performance as a stuntman in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.” And it turns out he performed the real thing for the hitman action film based on Ktar Isaka’s Japanese comic novel “Maria Beetle”.

Greg Rementer, the second unit director for Bullet Train, who was in charge of much of the action, recently disclosed to Vulture that Pitt completed nearly all of his physical stunts himself.

According to Rementer, “Brad did 95 percent of his physical stunts — the fighting. He’s like a natural-born athlete. He really got in there!”

“Never have I ever done so many huge actors in one feature where all of them excelled at the physical movement of our training,” Rementer said of Pitt’s work ethic, which he added extended to the whole ensemble. “So Brad, Brian, Michael Shannon, Hiroyuki Sonada, Andrew Koji — who was already a stud in terms of where he comes from with the show ‘Warrior’ — all these actors put out some great action and did a lot of their [own] stuff.”

The film stars Sandra Bullock, Michal Shannon, Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Bad Bunny, who, along with Pitt, have major fight battles on a speeding train. It is directed by David Leitch, who, in addition to directing credits like “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” and “Deadpool 2” is also a former stuntman for Pitt.

“You need those actors to want to do it, otherwise you won’t get those genuine characters on the screen,” Leitch had previously stated.

“I have found with the stuff we’ve been doing in our directorial careers is getting the actors trained up and keeping them in the action as much as possible.”

Pitt and Bullock were pictured together on the set of the film earlier this month. The movie will be similar to Bullock’s 1994 film ‘Speed’ and Liam Neeson’s 2014 airline thriller ‘Non-Stop,’ according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Keanu Reeves did most of the fight choreography for Leitch’s first “John Wick” and his action films have been praised for their realism. Thanks to Leitch’s “Atomic Blonde” Charlize Theron has become an action star, while Bob Odenkirk has lately starred in “Nobody” (which Leitch was a producer on).

Zak Olkewicz wrote the script for ‘Bullet Train,’ and David – who previously directed “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw” – is producing the film with his wife Kelly McCormick through their company 87North.

Also producing are Antonie Fuqua and Kat Samick, with Brittany Morrissey serving as executive producer.

Bullet Train is now under post-production, with a release date to be announced.
