Gal Gadot will portray Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will be released in 2016, but things could have gone quite differently for the actress.

During an interview with Xnet, the star revealed how she almost portrayed iconic Kryptonian villain Faora in “Man of Steel” and why she passed on the role (translated by HeroicHollywood).

“When I was a month pregnant with (my daughter) Alma, I got an offer to be the evil Superman character. If I wasn’t pregnant I’d take the job, and there’s no way they would take me now to be Wonder Woman.”

According to Gadot’s remarks, she was considered for the part of Faora in Man of Steel. Antje Traue was cast in the part that was originally intended for her.

As Gadot points out, it was her refusal of “Man of Steel” that led to her being cast as Wonder Woman.

The 30-year-old recently said that when she conducted a reading for Zack Snyder’s Wonder Woman, she had no idea she was auditioning for the role.
