Gal Gadot has put her Lasso of Truth aside to make some poison apples.

The actress, whose new show Red Notice premieres Nov. 5, is in final talks to play the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, which was released in 1938.

Gadot will feature alongside Rachel Zegler, the breakout heroine of “West Side Story,” who was cast as the legendary princess in June. Gadot’s role will allow her to demonstrate a darker side to her work, since she is most recognized for her heroic work in DC’s “Wonder Woman” franchise.

The film’s production is expected to begin in 2022.

Based on the Brothers Grimm fable, the first Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animation was aired in 1938. It was Disney’s first animated film, and it was a huge hit for the studio. According to insiders, the live-action picture will expand on the original’s plot and soundtrack. New songs will be written for the film by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar and Tony-winning pair behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen. Insiders believe the studio’s higher-ups are delighted with what Pasek and Paul have come up with following early returns, which is one of the reasons the company has taken its time with this adaptation.

After getting envious of Snow White’s beauty, the Evil Queen attempts to dupe her into eating a poisoned apple in the classic story. The villain also speaks the famous line: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

The movie has been in development since 2016, with Disney execs keeping a keen eye on the 36-year-old actress, who has been booked for a slew of films, including the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman 3’ with original heroine Lynda Carter.

Gadot will be following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone, and Cate Blanchett, who have all transformed animated villains into flesh and blood.

Marc Webb will direct and Marc Platt will produce the film.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” follows a long series of live-action Disney remakes, which includes a “Cruella” sequel, a “Lion King” prequel (directed by Barry Jenkins), “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Hercules” (produced by the Russo Brothers), and “Lilo & Stitch.” “Peter Pan and Wendy,” directed by David Lowery, is the next live-action adaption set to reach Disney+ sometime next year. (A release date hasn’t been set for the Tom Hanks-led, Robert Zemeckis-directed “Pinocchio,” which is also being prepared for Disney+.)

Gadot has remained on top of that packed dance card over the previous year, with Wonder Woman: 1984 premiering last Christmas. She is also developing and producing Cleopatra at Paramount. She’s also in Death on the Nile and is now filming Netflix’s Heart of Stone.
