“From nearly the moment we met … I knew our destiny was to be together,” Jackman continued. “In our 25 years – our love has only grown deeper. The fun, excitement and adventure more exhilarating; the learning even greater. I’m forever grateful to share our love, our life – and, our family together. We’ve only just begun. Deb, I love you with all my heart!”

Furness spoke with PEOPLE in November about the importance of family, saying, “Family, to me, means you feel safe. I always use the expression, ‘All of us need to know that we’re precious.’ So, with family, you’ve always got that you’re important in someone else’s life.”

In a recent interview with Hoda Kotb on the “Today Show,” the actor gushed about Furness and that easy kind of love.

“People often say, ‘Oh my god, marriage is so much work.’ There are some things you gotta live by, but it doesn’t feel like that,” Jackman, 52, admitted. “It’s been one of the best things in my life.”

“Deb is the lightest, most optimistic person I’ve ever met in my life.”

He added, “Like, if you ever want to play who’s the happiest person in the room? Deb wins.”

When he talked to PEOPLE in March 2020, before of their 24th anniversary, Jackman claimed he and his wife still “make time for each other.”

“We’re always learning and humans change so you have to, even though we’ve been together 25 years, you gotta reset all the time,” he said at the time. “I’m always reeling in how funny she is and how amazing she is and how smart she is. The longer it goes on the better it gets.”

They met on the set of the Australian television show Correlli in 1995 and married the following year. Oscar, 21, and Ava, 16, are their two children. And Jackman owes their wonderful family life to 65-year-old Furness.

In a 2018 interview with Today, Jackman shared the romantic tale of how he met and fell in love with his now-wife. “I knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives,” he said. “In the end, what do you want from your life partner? You want to be fully seen and you want to be able to fully see them for exactly who (they) really are. And Deb and I had that from the beginning.”

He also told Today, “When you’re dating, you literally put on the best version of yourself. When you get on the dance floor, you’re like, all right, I am pulling out my best moves here, I am doing my best lines, I have got my best clothes on. How do you transition from that person to actually truly being yourself? The tracksuit-pant version of yourself…. Until you feel that comfortable with your partner, you don’t really know if you’re right together. So literally from day one, Deb and I had that feeling.”
