Jennifer Lawrence made an unexpected gesture while posing for photographers backstage at the Academy Awards.

The Best Actress winner walked backstage after her dramatic tumble on the stairs and her out-of-breath victory speech to pose for photographs and address some burning questions. Jen was caught on camera pulling a nasty face and showing someone the middle finger just before she stood with last year’s Best Actor winner Jean Dujardin, who awarded her the Oscar.

The 22-year-old kept journalists in hysterics with the vulgar gesture, explaining: ‘I’m sorry. I did a shot before I… sorry.’

The actress promptly adjusted her face and was ready for the photo shoot.

Jennifer’s action appeared to be targeted at a camera, however it’s unclear who she was aiming her ‘anger’ towards.

This isn’t an unusual move for the 22-year-old, who has already appeared on several award shows. Lawrence is seen as a breath of fresh air in the business, since she is usually quirky, laid-back, and forthright in all of her speeches, interviews, and television appearances.

Jennifer was also seen with her parents, Karen and Gary Lawrence, at the 2013 Oscars Governors Ball that evening.

After falling on the steps on route to the stage in her poufy, pale pink Dior Haute Couture gown, she sarcastically laughed at herself.

A reporter asked her what she was thinking at the time of her fall, and she said, “A bad word that I can’t say that starts with ‘F’.”

Jennifer was seen with her head in her hands for a brief moment when it happened.

Jennifer’s Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper and X-Men: First Class co-star Hugh Jackman were both spotted sprinting to her aid.

Jennifer Lawrence’s wide-eyed amazement at being on entertainment’s largest platform (much alone winning) was beautiful.

“It’s been so amazing getting to know you, you’ve been so nice, and you made this experience unforgettable,” she remarked of her fellow nominees.
