North West, Kim and Kanye West’s eldest child, was born on June 15, 2013.

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, said she was “pro North” during an interview on The View, after previously dismissing reports that they were contemplating the cheeky name. “North means the highest power. [Kim] says that North is their highest point together,” she continued.

“It was a rumour in the press and we’d never really considered it seriously, at all,” Kim later told GQ magazine. “But Kanye and I were having lunch right over there at that table about a year ago and Pharrell [Williams] came over to us and said, ‘Oh, my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name.’ I said, ‘No we’re not, that’s just a rumour.”

While Saint — Kim’s second child/first son’s name — is completely legal in California, it’s a touch risky in other areas of the world. The name Saint is prohibited in certain countries (such as New Zealand) because it sounds too much like an official title.

Saint is five years old, having been born on December 5, 2015.

Following Saint’s birth in December 2015, a friend of the couple told PEOPLE that West was “going back and forth for a while” before deciding on a name for their second kid.

Saint has religious undertones and corresponds to Kanye West’s Yeezus moniker, however there are two schools of thought on why they chose the name.

After Kim’s difficult pregnancy, they chose the name Saint as a “blessing.”

“One of the reasons Kim and Kanye went with the name Saint is that it goes perfectly with the middle name they chose, ‘Robert’,'” a source told HollywoodLife at the time.

“Kim has always considered her dad to be a saint. So Saint Robert is ideal.”

The Kardashian-Wests’ third child was named Chicago after her parents pondered — and then discarded — numerous family names. “We were gonna name her Jo, ’cause [of] my grandma, Mary Jo. Or we were gonna go with Grace — and then it was Chicago,” Kim Kardashian West said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “We ended up with Chicago.”

There was one more family homage they considered, though: Donda. “[Kanye] really wanted his mother’s name, and I love that name too, but I just wasn’t sure,” Kardashian West revealed. “It’s so much to live up to.” “that is a place that made him, and a place that he remembers his family from,” the pair eventually decided on the name of West’s hometown.

According to local legend, the name Chicago was derived from the name of a local wild garlic used by a native Illinois tribe.

Chicago was born on January 15, 2018, and she is already three years old.

After physicians advised Kim, 37, that carrying a third child would be risky, she and Kanye opted to use a surrogate.

Psalm West, Kim and Kanye’s fourth child, was born through a surrogate mother once again.

Kim’s youngest child was given the name, which means “a sacred song or poem used in worship,” and is appropriate for the son of a gospel singer who recently released an album.

“Kanye has been going through a spiritual revival lately. Every name has a meaning that is personal between Kanye and Kim and the child,” the source said. “Psalm is a good reflection of where Kanye and Kim are spiritually.”

“I know that both of them read the Bible regularly now. Kanye loves the Books of Poetry of the Bible: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon. He reads them over and over,” the source added. “Psalms is the longest book in the Bible, but Kanye believes that there’s a lot of wisdom in them.”

He was born on May 10, 2019, making him two.

Shortly after the newborn boy’s birth on May 10, 2019, Grandma Kris Jenner spoke up about the story behind the newest family member’s unusual moniker.

“The inspiration was the Book of Psalms in the Bible,” Jenner said of her daughter Kim Kardashian West and son-in-law Kanye West’s decision, according to ET Online. “I think it’s just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel, and he’s such a blessing, so it’s perfect.”

Kim confirmed the baby news on May 10 when she tweeted, “He’s here and he’s perfect. He’s also Chicago’s twin lol I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians actress, whose father died in 2003, confessed she learned about the concept while on vacation in Indonesia.

Psalm is a Hebrew term that meaning “song.” It reflects Kanye and Kim’s new spiritual revival, which coincides with rumors that Kanye is going to build his own church. It also corresponds to Psalm’s brother Saint.
