Nick Jonas is recovering after a bike accident.

After TMZ claimed that Jonas was hospitalized due to an injury he sustained Saturday while filming a new program, presenter Carson Daly checked in with him on Monday night’s (May 17) new edition of The Voice.

Carson turned to the Jonas Brothers singer at the outset of the new episode of “The Voice,” to address recent allegations concerning his accident.

“Before we get started, let’s just turn to our friend, Nick Jonas. How are you feeling, buddy?” Daly asked.

Before the Top Nine live performances began, he commented, “I’m feeling okay. I’ve been better, but I’m doing all right.”

He went on to explain: “I cracked a rib from a spill on a bike and a few other bumps and bruises, but I just want to go ahead and say that, in case I’m not as physically enthusiastic as I usually am. Blake, please don’t make me laugh too much because it kind of hurts.”

Shelton, of course, didn’t waste any time inbefore  making a joke: “You’re just trying to get sympathy votes on this show, that’s all you’re doing,” the country singer quipped.

“Yes, it’s a big elaborate plan!” Jonas remarked.

Nick was admitted to the hospital on May 16, but the nature of his injuries was not divulged at the time. Nick was already back home by the evening of May 16, according to TMZ, and was scheduled to appear on Monday’s live edition of The Voice. As fans could see, Nick was seated in his chair, ready to cheer on the Top 9 performers competing for a position in the season 20 finale.

NBC said on Monday morning, hours after the news broke, that it is working on a new one-hour unscripted show called Olympic Dreams Featuring Jonas Brothers, which will premiere this summer on the network.

Olympic Dreams Featuring Jonas Brothers will premiere on July 21 at 8 p.m. ET and will follow pop star brothers Kevin, Joe, and Nick as they are “trained by some of Team USA’s best athletes as they compete against their biggest rivals: each other.”
