Will Smith is speaking openly about his thoughts on Tupac Shakur’s relationship with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Will was asked if he was ever envious of his wife of 22 years and her childhood buddy, the late rapper, during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, hosted by Charlemagne tha God.

“Oh, f**k yeah. Oh, my God, dude,” admitted the Aladdin actor.

The actor appeared on the show to promote their new flick, “Bad Boys for Life.”

The actor admitted that he was envious of 2Pac’s closeness with his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and that he “regrets” his reaction to their relationship.

Pinkett Smith and Shakur were close friends who went to the same Baltimore performing arts school before parting ways before Shakur’s death in 1996.

Pinkett was devastated when her buddy was shot and murdered at the age of 25.

Will explained, “That was in the early days. That was a big regret for me, too. Because I could never open up to interact with ‘Pac you know. Because we had a little bit of a thing.”

He went on to describe Jada and Tupac’s relationship, saying, “They grew up together and they loved each other but they never had a sexual relationship, but they had come into that age where now that was a possibility and Jada was with me. Pac had a little thing on that.”

He continued, “She just loved him. He was the image of perfection, but she was with the Fresh Prince, so it was, like, we were in the room together a couple times, I couldn’t speak to him. He wasn’t going to speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him.”

Despite being in the same room numerous times, Smith and his fellow rapper couldn’t bring themselves to talk to each other, the actor reveals.

Despite Jada’s attempts, Smith said that he and Shakur never became friends.

“She was like, ‘I’m telling you, you all are so similar. You would love him,’” he said

“That was a huge regret of mine,” he admitted, I couldn’t handle it. I was the soft rapper from Philly and he was Pac.”

Jada previously said that she was a drug dealer when she first met Tupac and that she regrets not assisting the late rapper in leaving that lifestyle before it was too late. Tupac was assassinated in Las Vegas, Nevada, in September 1996.

During an interview with Whitney Houston’s close friend Robyn Crawford in November, Pinkett Smith fought back tears and discussed her personal past with Shakur.

“It’s hard to love someone who has had a legacy at the level that she has had and then to lose them under tragic circumstances,” Pinkett Smith said. “Because I have a very similar situation.”

During an interview on Red Table Talk, Jada described her relationship with Will Smith as “complex.”

“Him feeling like, ‘You’re the only stability I got, I can’t afford for you to put that attention elsewhere’,” Smith told host Robyn Crawford. “For him, it was, we were an anchor for each other. Anytime he felt like that anchor was threatened, oh my God.”

Will also discussed the couple’s battle to reconcile their image and reality in the radio conversation.

“Me and Jada talk about that a lot even in the idea of our marriage and how people want us to be married versus how we’re really married,” he said. “It’s a really different thing and it’s so hard to let go of the characters and what people want to see.”

Will said that they’ve been “wildly tested” as a couple.

“We’ve tested each other. We’ve tested our commitment to the partnership. We’ve tested our commitment to the family,” he said. “There’s a certain amount of battery you have to subject each other to in order to know that you’re really down.”

Meanwhile, on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith dazzled viewers by rapping his whole career history in just 150 seconds.
