According to court documents, Nicolas Cage sought for an annulment four days after his wedding.

On March 23, Cage and makeup artist Erika Koike sought for a wedding license in Las Vegas, Nevada, and were married the same day. On March 27, the star filed for a divorce. His previous shortest marriage was with Lisa Marie Presley in 2002, which lasted 108 days until they divorced.

Nicolas Kim Coppola, Cage’s true name, claims he and Koike drank “to the point of intoxication” before the wedding on Saturday.

“Prior to obtaining a marriage license and participating in a marriage ceremony, [Cage] and [Koike] were both drinking to the point of intoxication.

“As a result of his intoxication, when [Koike] suggested to [Cage] that they should marry, [Cage] reacted on impulse and without the ability to recognise or understand the full impact of his actions.”

Cage, 55, claims he was unaware of Koike’s “relationship with another person.”

He said she failed to disclose her “criminal history,” including “additional active criminal proceedings.”

From 1995 until 2001, he was married to Patricia Arquette, then for four months in 2002 to Lisa Marie Presley, before marrying Alice Kim in 2004. The couple had a son the following year before divorcing in 2016.

In a 2018 interview with The Guardian while promoting his thriller Mandy, he talked about the end of their relationship, stating, “It was a shocker for me — I definitely didn’t see it coming and those feelings had to go somewhere, so they went into the performance.”

“And now it’s like, wow, I’m 54 and I’m single again, I didn’t see that coming!” he added. “It’s pretty grim.”

“Oh yes, I want to,” he responded when asked whether they could stay friends. “She was quite young when I married her and I don’t really have any ill will towards what happened. That’s all I’ll say.”

Christina Fulton, Cage’s previous girlfriend, had a son with him.

According to TMZ, the couple was seen arguing at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas only hours after their wedding. According to witnesses and photographs, Koike screamed at the 55-year-old actor.

Cage and Koike have kept their romance under wraps, only been seen together a few occasions.

Except for the fact that Koike was previously married, nothing is known about his now estranged wife.

With films like “Valley Girl,” “Birdy,” “Peggy Sue Got Married,” “Raising Arizona,” and “Moonstruck,” the Oscar-winning actor first rose to prominence in the 1980s.

For his part in the 1995 film “Leaving Las Vegas,” he won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

The actor is most known for his appearances in the films “Face/Off” and “National Treasure.” Koike is a professional makeup artist. On IMDB, she is listed as having worked in the cosmetics department of the short film “Hankikanto.”

In April 2018, they were spotted on vacation in Puerto Rico and again in May while out for dinner in Los Angeles.

For the purpose of comparison, this marriage was 18 times shorter than Kim Kardashian West’s second marriage to Kris Humphries.

Cage most recently voiced Spider-Man Noir in the film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
