HOLLYWOOD actor Eddie Redmayne has disclosed that a young Prince William was once a target for other students while they were classmates at Eton.

In the late 1990s, the duo attended a boys-only boarding school together, with William’s younger brother, Prince Harry, a few years below.

They were previously pictured sporting jazzy waistcoats and even played rugby together.

Eddie was questioned about playing rugby with the young Prince at school during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in November 2018.

Rather than praising the Duke of Cambridge’s athletic abilities, Eddie expressed sympathy for him.

“I always felt a bit sorry for him because basically any school you played, all they wanted to do was tackle Prince William and they could say, ‘I tackled Prince William,'” Eddie explained.

“So if you were standing next to Prince William like I was, it was actually quite easy and quite fun.”

Despite their history of playing rugby together, it appears the duo did not stay in touch.

When asked if he was invited to Prince Harry’s royal wedding, he replied, “Quick answer… no I wasn’t. It’s fine.”

In the year 2000, the pair graduated from Eton, which was founded by William’s ancestor Henry VI.

Following his graduation from Eton, William attended St Andrews University in Scotland, where he met his future wife, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Eddie then went on to study History of Art at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he earned a 2:1 Honours degree in 2003.
