Vin Diesel has paid tribute to his buddy Paul Walker.

The actor, who already has a son and a daughter with Jimenez, has announced that he is now the delighted father of a new baby girl. And that special addition to the family is known by a unique name.

“I named her Pauline,” he said in a “Today” interview on Monday.

Diesel stated his close buddy and co-star in five of the seven “Fast and the Furious” films, Paul Walker, was present when his new addition arrived, and it was a very suitable decision.

“He [Walker] was in the room. There’s no other person that I’m thinking about as I’m cutting this umbilical cord,” Diesel told NBC’s Natalie Morales as the two were traveling in a helicopter. “I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world.”

“I’m telling you this because I love you,” Diesel said before sharing the news. “I know that you are a good soul, and I know that this is in good hands.”

He talked openly about Walker during a recent screening of the film, telling the audience: “My dearest buddy passed away. My brother passed away.”

“This was a very very personal and important film for us,” the actor told a Los Angeles crowd last week.

“This was a labor of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do,” Diesel said. “Because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”

In November 2013, Walker’s life was cruelly cut short while travelling in a car driven by Roger Rodas. The driver lost control of the car and slammed into a tree at a high speed. Neither of the men were able to survive the wreckage alive. Walker was in the process of filming the next “Furious 7” at the time. For several months, production was halted as the producers merged pre-existing material with body doubles played by the actor’s real-life brothers, Caleb and Cody.

The vehicle was traveling at above 100 mph.

Although the most enduring, this isn’t the first memorial Vin Diesel has paid to his late buddy, who was only 40 years old at the time of his death. After finishing production on Fast & Furious 7, the cast and crew penned an open letter to Paul, which their co-star and buddy was unable to see.

They wrote: “Our family is big and strong but it won’t ever quite be whole again without Paul.”

The producers have said they don’t plan on killing Walker’s character off in the new movie.

Furious 7, which is being released by NBC’s sister business Universal Pictures, will be in cinemas on April 3rd.
